Just like last month, here is the anticipated segment “Paula’s Favourites”, this time for the month of March. Make sure to click on anything you’d like to know more about it (it will be underlined).
Bible Verse of the month
I Samuel 6:7 – But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
John Bevere is one of the greatest’s preachers and prophets of our time and always surprises us with the words of revelation God gives him. In this message, he shares words of wisdom on how to prepare our lives in Eternity from the choices and decisions we make in our present time.
This song has such a triumphant message that glorifies our Mighty God. Through this song we can declare how powerful, worthy and tremendous is our God because he has risen and alive. So, nothing is impossible for Him.
“Forever He is glorified, Forever He is lifted high, Forever He is risen, He is Alive, He is Alive!”
Bible Chapter / Book of the month
Judges, I and II Samuel
The Book of Judges and I and II Samuel give us a panoramic view of the rebellion and immaturity of the Israeli, to the point where they demanded from the prophet Samuel a king that was not in the plans of God. It also talks about king Saul’s arrogance, pride and jealousy, and it also retells David’s life. It shows us that David’s faith in God, and how He never looks on our appearance but our hearts!
Devotional of the month
Minuto com Deus has been a base for my daily devotional. Edvaldo Oliveira applies and talk about daily problems and crisis in a very profound, spiritual, uplifting way.

Trends of the month
Spring has finally sprung, and with its arrival so have floral patterns. Here in England, March is still quite cold but I’ve tried to incorporate this trend keeping in mind the weather of her majesty’s kingdom. As you can see in this outfit, I chose a Japanese style short dress with a bold floral print over the black background as the main piece. To add more texture and interest, I paired this dress with a black chiffon maxi skirt (underneath the dress). The skirt gives the dress, which is quite stiff, a certain fluidity and movement, as well as adding some sophistication with the slits. I completed this look with a staple leather jacket and some black ankle boots.
Makeup Trends of the month
This makeup look was inspired by flower packed fields and the luminous skies we’ve witness these few days. I chose rose pink tones as well as golds and champagne, and pearl white. Besides the gold on the lids, I’ve highlighted the highest points of the face, to give it a dewy appearance. I matched the rose pinks and burgundy colours on the lids with a soft nude lipstick and a discreet blush in burnt rose. Because of the rise in temperature, make sure to apply a primer before any makeup to insure your face doesn’t get oily or cake throughout the day.
Film of the month
“Room” and “Love, Rosie”
“Room” is an extremely intense movie. It truly keeps you on the edge of your seat with your emotions on your sleeves. It narrates the story of a young woman that was kidnapped and raped at a very young age. Now, older and with a child, she is forced to teach her son how to see the “room” as his own little world.
“Love, Rosie” is a Rom Com awarded with the famous British dark and sarcastic sense of humour. This movie describes the highs and lows of the ongoing relationship between childhood friends, from their diapers to their parenthood.
TV Show of the month
“Grey’s Anatomy” and “Chicago Med”
This month, I’ve been following season 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy” as well as season 2 of “Chicago Med”. Both TV shows have hospital life as a background, but give us a different perspective on doctor’s lives as well as the thousands of patients that go through the hospital every day. It is filled with suspense, adrenaline rushes and breath-taking scenes.
Book of the month
“Why Men Can Only do One Thing at a Time and Women Never Stop Talking”
This book talks about the difference between women and men in an intellectual, funny and objective way. It is a very rewarding and easy read! I would highly recommend.
In England, we celebrate Mother’s Day on the 26th of March so I couldn’t help but mention it as a favourite of course. This year I’ve received one of the most beautiful and touching presents of all time, so I just had to include it in this segment.
Food Suggestion of the month
This month I’ve been loving this sandwich and have been indulging in its perfect combination of sweet and savoury. It quickly won me over and became my favourite delicacy!
